I’m Back…

Hello my dear bloggers, I’m pretty much sure that many of you might get the thought of “me being back from the dead”, but I did not have much of a choice but to take a long break as I had a lot of things to settle on the personal front.

Well, I am not sure if my followers(present if any!) are still there but nevertheless I have decided to continue after quite a long time hoping to receive support from your side as well.

I am slowly getting back into the groove and you can expect some more posts from my end as regularly as possible!!!

I will also be snooping around my regular blogs that I follow and catch with them soon enough. I am not going to rant on but will do so soon, probably the weekend…

So please do keep showing your support as you can expect some changes in terms of environment from my end as I am gearing for a shift which I will let you eventually, thus until next, best wishes to everybody… ūüôā

Well I guess I’m probably the first and the fastest person to break a resolution in Blogosphere! If you all had remembered, I post¬†sometime back that I would post at least 3 posts a week, but lazy me I manage to get only one post a week!

Well we do have our personal commitments plaguing us on a daily basis, that it just makes me very difficult to find a time to sit in front of the Personal Computer and start a post. Another everlasting question that I have in my mind is about what to blog today!

I don’t want to be another one of those people who clog your “ever-growing” inbox space with my rants and so I see it positively that I do send you just one post a week, so you guys can rejoice!!!

Nevertheless one unending problem that I face, although am not sure if anyone else faces it, is with regards to categories and tags!? I find it extremely tough to add categories and tags to each blog post that I write and eventually publish. Although WordPress has several options to convert and interchange them both, I still am yet to solve this puzzle ( Kinda resembles the National Treasure movie series, right?)

And especially with people like who us who are yet to get “Freshly Pressed” but aspire to be so soon, it frustrates us as we are still not aware as to how do we tag our blog posts so that not just people from WordPress but people from all across Blogosphere do pay our blogs a visit.

Adding woes apart from the above is when people you “follow” don’t bother to follow you back. I did read somewhere that “Blogging should be mutual”, yet the whole essence of “being mutual” goes for a toss when we don’t hear back from other people whose blogs you follow, comment and like their posts.

It does pain to see such people present here, and such kind of people don’t bother to visit your blog even if you do follow theirs diligently and I mean with subscription!

Another misery that start-up bloggers face is when you comment on a Freshly Pressed blog post! They sound rather obnoxious and don’t simply bother to reply back.

Freshly Pressed or An Utter Mess?

Although I do agree that they might be overwhelmed a bit with a huge inflow of comments et al, but for how many days will they be receiving them- one or two days at the most- after that they can definitely pay a return visit back to the blogs of the commentators as a courtesy.

After all they should realize that other bloggers don’t have any need to come to their blog and post a comment!

Another reason of concern for “start-up bloggers” is of Statistics! At the beginning, I was seemingly bothered by this! I would be bogged with concern about how many people visited and commented about my posts!

However now, I just don’t bother! It’s completely their wish now! If they do want to follow mine and post a comment, they are always welcome ūüôā I have crossed a 1000 hits since August 29th when I began my blog, and that seems more than enough for me! I don’t mind if only 1 person who reads my blog, I feel positive that I need to blog for that 1 person at least!!!

Yet another final cause for worry is the will to write! There are times when not just me but even others feel about the spirit of blogging!

“When no one bothers to pay us visit, they why do we bother to even write a blog!”

Just trash that attitude and remember that your blog is yours and it doesn’t matter if no one visits it! Think of it as a virtual diary ( That’s what I do!) and am sure someday in the future you will recollect back golden memories from your blog…

“The Brain and the Heart are two most valuable resources God has bestowed upon us; they can either hold you as a Hostage or Vice versa”

The above not-so-famous quote was written by a very wise and intelligent human being probably the only person to possess the same IQ as Albert Einstein namely ME! *Applause* Thank you, Thank you!!!

Well, enough of self-praise and bravado and lets jump into what I truly wanted to say and let you all experience through my blog post today. Don’t you all agree on the above quote that I said! I’m pretty sure we might have come across so many of such incidents that prove my quote.

Holding yourself Hostage

In my observations there are 3 classes of people whom I witnessed that actually made me crumple my cranium and chalk out the saying!

(1) Cranium Crumplers: Well, you might have guessed it for sure. These are those people who pay more attention to their brain or rather they weigh more on basis of their thoughts about anything. Going by logic and rationality, they take a “mental decision”. For example: If a blind man asks you to help him cross the street, usually these kind of people first check whether the guy is blind for real or not, before actually helping!

These people go all the way to see to it that they implement the decision taken or rather they tend to be intellectually snobbish to an extent. These people, in conclusion, are held hostage by their gray matter!

(2) Heart warmers: If the same blind man asks for help from a person of this genre, they go all out the way to help the guy, irrespective if the guy is blind or not!!! People in this category kind of have an emotional¬†side of looking at things or situations. They listen to their heart and bring more “care” into their decisions. However they are “sweet softies” and I am not saying this to criticize them! People falling under this category are held hostage by the heart!

(3) And the third category to which I truly believe I belong is the “Rubix¬†Cube”: You all do know that the Rubix cube is by far the most complex toys to crack, but with a little luck and quick thinking, you eventually do crack it!

I usually base my decision on both logic and emotion. I usually step in the other persons shoes and then based on the fats take a decision accordingly. People under this class can be viewed in 2 ways:

Either they are the most pitiable as they get to be held hostage by both the brain and the heart or are the most enviable as the hold their brain and heart as hostage!

However it’s not at all easy doing this and ultimately the decisions people take fall into the first 2 categories. It has always been a ever-debatable question as to which “voice” should we follow when we take a decision – the call of the cranium or the whisper of the heart.

Again there exist some differences between people who choose to follow either one and one only. The intellects tend to remain aloof from the “society” as a whole and are bound to face “ostracization” from their fellow-beings as being too harsh on others. And for the other class, they are actually looked down upon as being far too emotional that eventually run wild and engulf the person into a mound of sorrow or misery!!!

And we human beings are in a dilemma as we cannot ignore one as both are within us and both are ultimately essentially for our survival!

Yet the post is not about which is the best person to listen to or those class of people who see success more based on their decisions! The blog post is all about encouraging to just follow your decisions be it based on logic or emotion. Ultimately its you who has to face the consequences – be it good or bad – thus just go with the flow.

However at the end, I would just say just step into the other person’s shoes and take a decision with the facts and info at hand thereby giving importance – to not only your brain or heart – but also the other people involved in your decision.

I would also like to hear your comments on how you base your decisions, or any other feedback about the post!

Until next time, Happy Blogging

Happy New Year 2011

Well folks, it’s that¬†time of the year again wherein we step into an altogether new beginning¬†with regards to time! As the year 2010 comes to an end, we have a 2011 that’s all set to be born! So here’s wishing my readers, followers and SUBSCRIBERS(they get special mention because after all they put up with my rants!!!) a very Happy, Prosperous and Successful New Year 2011!

I did happen to come across a rather interesting article in the papers with regards to the key ways in making resolutions actually work. So here are some of the excerpts:

# It’s all about picking the right resolution. Rather than saying “I’m gonna lose 10 Kgs” you can word it as “I’ll not waste money on any unused gym memberships”!

# It pays to be deliberately vague while wording your resolution. In other words give yourselves some room to wriggle out in certain situations!

For example: “I will wake up at 7:00 Am everyday” – NOT GOOD!

“I will wake up earlier in the mornings”- MUCH BETTER! Because 8:29Am is earlier than 8:30Am, and you did keep your resolution! ūüėČ

# If you must make some rather “impossible” and “heartbreaking” resolutions, keep them to yourself! If you break¬†a resolution in the first place¬† that ultimately no one knew about, was it ever really broken???

# If you still feel that you need to keep up your dignity without getting caught, ask for the help of your friends and family or better yet just follow the next tip!

# Make a resolution that’s¬†mutual! Don’t get it? “Will take the dog out for a walk everyday”, so its mutual you and your pooch get involved! The advantages are actually many: You can boast to everyone that you have a heart of selflessness and made of pure gold; and you can always blame it on the dog/others if the resolution failed to kick off!!!

In my previous post, I would have mentioned that I would blog about my personal experiences in 2010 and goals for 2011. On a personal note, 2010 has been a year that has been beneficial for me in many different ways and of course I did have some sour experiences, but nevertheless I did enjoy it!

So here goes my top 5 experiences in 2010, in reverse order:

(5) Being a hater of social networking sites, I had no option but to open accounts in Facebook(You can find me on Fb as Adithya¬†B Kumar and my profile pic is the same as my blog gravatar!)¬†and “voluntarily” open an account in LinkedIn. I did hate it at first but actually have slowly started to get used to it now. But however I do check into my Facebook account rarely!

(4) Well, I did a valuable lesson to not sign on the dotted line without reading the fine print! So everyone keep your eyes peeled for the fine print! And I also learnt to never trust anyone again. Although I fairly keep up with this, I sometimes falter with a specific sect of the zodiac, especially those born from Jan mid to Feb mid!

(3) I have gained valuable work experience in terms of a couple of internships that helped in finding out my strong and weak areas and actually helped me narrow down by interests quite a bit.

(2) I graduated with honors in my Bachelor degree in Business Administration. Definitely all the hard work pays!!!

(1) Of course it has to be this!!! MY BLOG! I never dreamt of starting a blog, so thanks to WordPress and all my readers who supported me till now with awesome comments! Please do continue to give me your support as always! Thanks…

So I don’t actually make resolutions but I guess I can make some exceptions because rather than saying them as resolutions I would term them as “GOALS”! Some of my goals for 2011 include getting at least¬†one of my works published, keeping my fingers crossed for some ambitious plans with regards to further studies, and vowing to blog at least 3 posts per week and make my blog as lively and entertaining as possible.

So once again I wish everyone a very Happy New Year 2011 and see you all again next year!

Until next time, Happy Blogging…

The title is definitely not my phone number or the “measurements of an incredibly overweight woman”.. I am celebrating the inception of me ( and definitely not the movie INCEPTION!!!) I¬†crashed into the Internet and WordPress¬†around 50 posts ago, thanks to my friend Addy.. Seems ages!!!

Well, the first paragraph was written by my blog! This is officially my 50th blog post. I’ve got around 700+ hits and 65 odd comments on my blog since I started it at the end of August 2010!

Its become a sort of obsession, hasn’t it? Amongst us bloggers? To boast about our “statistics”! We keep checking on our blog everyday to see how many have seen, commented, liked our posts and eventually boast about it to our friends, family, neighbours, the man at the cash counter at the nearby grocer’s or the waitress at the local restaurant!!!

I mean, we just can’t seem to get enough of our blog and our writing. We need to publicize it and so we add Facebook, Twitter and other links wherein readers can share our posts (I however doubt it if they share mine???)

Yet, we still sometimes don’t bother about writing anything on our blog for a long time and eventually let the blog to survive on bits and pieces of our writing.

Blogging has become an indispensable tool to bring about change! Writing is fine, but having a blog, writing something extraordinary, getting people to follow, like and eventually support and subscribe to your blog is definitely something huge. I am here representing all those bloggers who have not yet been “Freshly Pressed” and have not had that much of a fan following… People, don’t be disheartened, you have it in you to do what you want on your own free will!

Give more passion into what ou write about and am sure other successful¬†things can follow! A blog can actually catapult you to fame if any influential people see it – you may actually be considered for a coveted post that you may even not be aware…

Thus, just don’t be bothered about the number of subscriptions and just keep scripting your success story for the few who want to see it..

Seasons Greetings…
