Hello everyone! I have been absent from posting anything, but rest assured I was active on WordPress and came across some really wonderful posts by other bloggers!

The previous week had been hectic not only for me but for the whole world as well! Events of various magnitudes and importance took place across the world!

One pf the most awaited events was the G20 Summit that kicked off in South Korea, that saw the participation of the world leaders of the 20 nations that are part of the association. Trade, International Security and Global Warming were some of the key issues that were on the agenda of most of the nations that were participating in the summit! One of the key meetings would be the interaction between US President Barack Obama and his Chinese counterpart Hu-Jintao. With discrepancies in the Chinese currency with respect to the US dollar and trade pacts to be discussed, it will one of the highlights of the summit.

Proceeding further we also saw the “grand”, and I must add exquisite, opening ceremony, at the 2010 Asiad being held at Guagnzhou, China. As expected the Chinese athletes have been doing well. This kind of made me ponder about the fact of sport and the importance of training! With my knowledge, I can say that the chinese have excelled in all sports and this is due to the fact that they start training the children at a very young age.

Although I agree that the performance would be higher once they reach a certain age if they start training at a young age, but as a child don’t you think that they should be enjoying their childhood(that happens only once) rather than sweating it out at practise sessions with “demanding” coaches and “strenuous exercises”!

Another most significant event was the release of Aung San Su Kyi. The Burmese leader was kept under house arrest for over 15 years of the 21 years that she was charged or rather “unabashedly convicted” by the Military Junta party who have stopped the development of Burma by “force”. Yet it remains unclear whether she will be freed without any conditions or there is an underlying fear that she could be placed under house arrest again! Praying it doesnt happen, I have to add that anyone in this world should be free and no one has a right to be kept restricted by anyone else, excepting our conscience! Our conscience is the only entity that has a right to keep us under control at anytime possible. However a dismal fact is that only some people have the “time” to listen to their conscience in this fast paced world!
